2 Alpha Smile Batts creating a Hybrid system with 16kW of battery storage.
Longi 580Wp Mono Solar Panels (11.6kWp) +
Lock Solar Mounting structure for the C-Pac Roof. As with all Solar Rooftops we install DC + AC Surge Protection and an RCBO for complete safety.
The solar PV array is grounded, and we install a dedicated DC grounding system. All Hybrid systems come with an ATS (automatic transfer switch) for added security.
These systems use the Alpha Solar monitoring app or web portal to monitor the system.
Challenges: Creating the critical load panel. This is always an issue and takes time as typical Thai electrical installations are not installed with separate circuits so separating circuits to add to the critical load panel is tricky and takes time.
Interesting attributes : Always nice installing the Alpha systems
Installation Date: 30th May 2024

Huawei Residential Smart Charger – 7.4kW/ 32A SCharger-7KS-S0 Single phase
The customer can use the Fusion Solar App or web portal to monitor the system.
Challenges: Roof Type – this type of roof is quite difficult as the tiles are brittle, and the roof pitch is steep. Installing the Solar Mounting is tricky because of the limited space.
Interesting attributes : Easy to install Huawei Systems everything works out of the box ☺
Installation Date: 04th May 2024
Name of client: Sanyalak Jansritakoon
Location: Pattaya
Size of project: 5kW On Grid
Equipment used: We used
Huawei 5kW Single Phase Inverter (This inverter is ‘battery ready’ so the customer can install batteries later if they need them.)
Smart Power Sensor + WLAN Dongle.
10 Longi 550Wp Mono Solar Panels (5.5kWp)
Lock Solar Mounting structure for the C-Pac Roof.
As with all Solar Rooftops we install DC + AC Surge Protection and an RCBO for complete safety. The solar PV array is grounded, and we install a dedicated DC grounding system.
The customer can use the Fusion Solar App or web portal to monitor the system.
Challenges: Had to move the PV Array as the neighbor complained about the reflection! Never had that before…
Interesting attributes : Easy to install Huawei Systems everything works out of the box ☺
Solar Panels: 27 Longi 550Wp (Half Cell, 72 Cell Solar Panel Mono-Crystalline 550Wp – T1) total 14.85kWp.
Solar mounting was ballast type, no penetration into the slab roof, we used SunForSun mounting structure.
In addition, we installed a three-phase Solar Combiner Box on the DC side we used DC Fuses, DC Isolation and DC Surge Protection.
On the AC side we installed a 4 pole RCBO for the inverter and AC Surge Protection.
The entire Solar Array has been grounded to the main MET terminal in the Combiner Box. Solar Cables are Hukabel and MC4 connectors are Link.
On the AC side we installed a 2 pole RCBO for the inverter and AC Surge Protection. The entire Solar Array has been grounded to the main MET terminal in the Combiner Box. Solar Cables are Hukabel and MC4 connectors are Link.
Challenges: With this installation Kunini was the main electrical contractor so the solar PV system was designed with the electrical system. We designed the MDB panel to have a designated supply for the Solar PV System and all the backup loads were separated and installed into a separate Distribution Board during the electrical installation. The roof is a flat concrete design with a waterproof membrane. To avoid any potential issues in the future we installed the solar panels as Ballast Type, meaning we fixed concrete blocks to the roof with concrete glue then installed the solar mounting on the blocks.
Interesting attributes : by having this type of installation you have the added advantage of having a reserve power supply in the event of a power outage. In addition, the batteries can be programmed to ‘discharge’ to the load in the evenings giving further savings. Customers with Solar Rooftops can take advantage of the TOU type meter giving Peak and Off-Peak utility rates. A Solar Hybrid system can be the bridge between when the sun goes down and when the TOU off-peak rate kicks in giving further savings.
Installation Date: TBA
Name of client: Alex Klug (Rayong)
Size of project: 5kW Single Phase – On Grid
Equipment used: We used
Huawei 5kW Grid Inverter, Huawei Smart Power Sensor for Zero Export Control,
Huawei WLAN Dongle.
Solar Mounting – SunForSun ‘hanger bolt’ type.
Solar Panels, 9X Longi LR5-72HPH-550M – 550Wp total 4950Wp.
Single Phase Combiner Box with 1 string.
Combiner Box on the DC side we used DC Fuses, DC Isolation and DC Surge Protection.
On the AC side we installed a 2 pole RCBO for the inverter and AC Surge Protection. The entire Solar Array has been grounded to the main MET terminal in the Combiner Box. Solar Cables are Hukabel and MC4 connectors are Link.
Challenges: No real challenges apart from the main house Consumer Unit being far away. We had to install IMC metal conduit from the pool pump room (PV location) to the electric room (around 30M). In general, a simple installation.
Interesting attributes : As this customer is away for most of the year, he will use the Solar PV system to take care of his small daytime load and will export the excess under the PEA’s FIT (feed in tariff) scheme. When he is at home, he will have some additional loads but for the next few years he will be away more than in Thailand. Kunini will take care of the FIT application process for the customer.
Installation Date: March 2024
Name of client: Mr. Mikey (Kanchanaburi)
Overview: Solar Hybrid installation. The system was installed on the roof of a Boat House in Western Thailand in quite a remote location. The power here is unreliable with lots of power issues. The system will be used to maximize self-consumption and have a reserve power supply for emergencies.
Size of project: 5kW Hybrid + 9.9kW Solar PV
Equipment used: We used
Alpha G3 S5 Hybrid Inverter, 5kW 1P
Alpha Lithium Batteries (LiFePO4) – 3 x 10.1kW / 30.3kWh
Jinko Tiger Solar Panels Mono Half-Half, 72 Cell 550Wp, N Type – 18 Pcs
Klip-Loc Solar Mounting (for metal sheet roof)
Monitored by Alpha App + Portal
Challenges of the install: One of the primary challenges faced during the installation process is the logistics of transporting materials and equipment to the site, especially when the location is remote. The distance and inaccessibility can complicate the delivery schedules, increase transportation costs, and require special planning to ensure that all necessary items arrive intact and on time. Additionally, remote locations often lack the infrastructure needed to support large-scale installations, further adding to the complexity and demanding creative solutions to overcome these obstacles.
Interesting attributes of the process: Never installed on a boat house before!
